If you keep your old kernel+initrd you could fall back. You can even tell grub to fall back automatically.
A kernel package update does not install the new kernel next to the old one. It is just like any other package update and replaces the old files with the new ones. So whether the old kernel is still there depends on how far the update went before it failed.
However the OP wrote that several linux images were updated so the other ones should be usable.
