Re: Apt periodic doesn't work

There is only one empty file named unattended-upgrades-shutdown.log in this directory.
unattended-upgrades:
Initial blacklisted packages:
Initial whitelisted packages:
Starting unattended upgrades script
Allowed origins are: ['origin=Debian,codename=jessie,label=Debian-Security']
No packages found that can be upgraded unattended

There are really no packages to upgrade, because in the morning I ran apt update and apt upgrade manually. Actually, I do not want packages to upgrade automatically, I only need checking for upgrades and downloading them.

My computer is not a laptop

Hello! I use Debian Stable. Recently I have installed
unattended-upgrades package, so as to have apt lists updated and
possible upgrades downloaded automatically (while I do not want them
to be installed automatically). However, though I think I have
configured everything correctly, apt doesn't update package lists
automatically (I have been using my computer for three days since then
and update did not take place).

I'd check logs at /var/log/unattended-upgrades directory and manually
run command "unattended-upgrades -v" (as root). Also, the apt-daily
script has a laptop check which makes it skip if on_ac_power command
returns 1 (not on AC power).
