By that logic he could "seem" to be guilty of all sorts of things. I agree that Poettering, et al, have had numerous complaints against them, in the past. But even Linus has been referred to as hard to deal with. So, there is a balancing act between the pursuit of the "Right Thing(tm)" and the sensibilities of users, especially with regards to code.
