This is normal. (And the way I wanted it.) I use Openbox only -- no DE
or login manager -- as part of a custom install of Wheezy.
You could try putting startx or starting openbox directly
in /etc/rc.local.

The best I can suggest is the Openbox docs from the Openbox site.
Also, do a search in Arch Linux's documentation area. They have
excellent, detailed instructions that I referenced when setting up my
Wheezy system.
