FWIW, I loaded a pdf into calibre, it showed me only a thumbnail of the cover
page, and I crashed it looking for a print this option. Apparently it can
only deal with e-pubs and I don't have any according to locate.

I did find another libpoppler in backports, installed it, but okular is still
emasculated. Sniff.

The printer in question is a Brother HL-3170CDW. Running on Brothers own linux
drivers.

Can anyone else duplicate this problem?

Thanks Charles.
