tail --lines=50 /var/log/dmesg | grep NetworkManager yields nothing
the same with tail --lines=50 /var/log/messages | grep NetworkManager


cat /etc/network/interfaces and
cat /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf are as shown in my other
