In my case the symlink target is
/usr/local/jre1.8.0/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so
and the symbolic link resides in
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so
(example).
Disable the other installed version/s via
Tools -> Addons -> Plugins and make sure
the version you intended to use currently
is enabled here also.
