May i suggest debmany?

$ apt-cache policy volumeicon-alsa
volumeicon-alsa:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 0.4.6-1

$ debmany volumeicon-alsa

$ apt-file search debmany
debian-goodies: /usr/bin/debmany
