Could you please write what command (CLI or when using Synaptic, what
you do using Synaptic) you already run and the command you run,
including it's output, that would remove GNOME packages you need? If you
don't remember, take a look at the history.

I am not sure of *exactly* what command i entered into synaptic, sorry.
