Well.

According to the above:
You do, indeed, have 40GB of swap configured.
It appears to be using 66MB of that swap.

So swapping is not disabled, and you have plenty of swap space for any normal use.

The remaining question is, why do you periodically run out of memory and crash? Or, put another way, what abnormal use is occurring to cause your crashes?

Are there any indications in syslog of what may be going on immediately before the crash?
