- Run the update manager from command line ("gksu update-manager") and
put here the output.
- What about apt-get and/or aptitude, synaptic...? Do they fail in the
same way?
- Also, check what's the current installed version ("apt-cache policy
update-manager") to discard a possible problem coming from mixed sources
should you have the testing repos enabled.
- To close the application without rebooting, open a console, run "ps
aux| grep update-manager", get the ID of the related process(es) and try
to kill it (them) with "kill -9 PID".
