That works; but other pages also crashed iceweasel and the Skype case was only a convenient example. One way or another a working browser is needed.

It was a long ugly thing containing unpronounceable strings.
The Armada is about 40 km away and I can't reproduce the URI immediately. OpenVPN has a tunnel open but VLC isn't working.

Works fine on this Foxconn desktop, Dalton, also.

Yes, disabling sound to "fix" a browser is weird. I hate to say it but the phrase "bad software engineering" springs to mind.

After difficulties when I last installed testing, including the odyssey entailed in the switch from Grub to Grub 2, I vowed to never again stray from stable.
