Re: Anyway of keeping gnome2 while upgrading from Squeeze to Wheezy



If you are using squeeze, and it works they way you it to. Then it is best to leave it as so. I prefer Gnome2 amongst any DE:very stable and configurable. The hardware I have is capable of running Gnome3, but I need something that will run on all hardware. 

If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

There is Cinnamon done by the lead developer of Mint. It's probably more
mature than MATE. I've run Cinnamon before and it's nice. The benefit is
the classic look/behaviour of Gnome2 but using GTK3, so less buggy.
