I had a similar problem with a flash movie on a webpage, but it isn't consistent. There did seem to be a connection between the movie and moving the mouse. I had this happen a lot in Ubuntu and various window managers, which is why I switched back to Debian. I don't think it ever happened with Debian stable, but I recently moved to Sid and I think it has happened once.
I haven't been able to reliably recreate it, though.
