Hi
I took the bull by the horns and added the unstable repo to the list and upgraded.
Seems all OK.
the gnome-shell I now have has the fixed applications and places pull down menus, seven window selectors
on the bottom panel, pulldowns on the top panel, and the normal volume control, network indication and
the additional shutdown & user functions on the RH of the top panel.
I don't think its the fall back as no message to say the gnome-shell wouldn't load.
nearly looks like and performs the same as the G2 shell.
Its still different with the panel to the G3 desktop in fedora, but not worried.
If I can figure out how to include a piccy of the desktop so it appears with the text , I'll post it.
