Hi John,
If you can connect to the internet using the ethernet port, then you can use 
these steps:

aptitude install wireless-tools
aptitude install firmware-b43-lpphy-installer
modprobe b43
iwconfig
ifconfig wlan0 up

Another thing that you can try is install the vendor driver:

aptitude install module-assistant wireless-tools
m-a a-i broadcom-sta
modprobe -r b44 b43 b43legacy ssb brcmsmac
modprobe wl
iwconfig
