My syslog is a little difficult to decipher because i have two external devices. One is a WD My Passport, with an NTFS filesystem, and holds 640Gigs. It is self-powered (has no AC Adapter). I've never had a problem with it. The one i am having a problem with is the WD My Book, also using a NTFS filesystem, and has AC Power. It holds 2TB. I just wanted to say that again because my syslog may be mentioning both. Anyway, here is /var/log/syslog when i believe i initially plugged the device in -

All my external devices are NTFS (i am using devices that only recognize NTFS, UDF & the FAT filesystems). My user home directory as well as the root filesystem is on ext3. The output of my fstab is below -
