Well.

Debian home page
-> "getting debian" (sounds logical doesn't it?"
-> tear y'r eyes open, left column "download a small installation
image" mentions "usb disk". give the header a mindless click
-> 3rd choice out of 4 is "Tiny CDs, USB sticks, etc."
-> you scroll down (watch it, don't loose your /balance/!) and read
"Here are the links to the available image files (look at the MANIFEST
file for information):" MANIFEST IN CAPITALS SO YOU DON'T OVERLOOK IT
-> grab your arch, read the manifest, you're spoiled with another
mention of usb sticks. so now you know what image to download.

Seems the hardest part of using Debian really is the installation.
