About the nvidia driver, you can try download it directly from the debian repositories (wich is the best option) or download it from the nvidia site. The file from nvidia's site is a ".run" so you just need to execute it and follow the steps wich will be provided by the software itself.

I'm visiting with my son-in-law and daughter and he wants to install Debian on this laptop. I was able to successfully install squeeze. However, the two remaining problems I have at this point are a) getting the nvidia drivers working and b) getting the touch screen to work. I know they are probably related...
For the nvidia drivers, the laptop seems to have two video cards, an Intel and an nVidia 330M. When the installer set up X, it is using the Intel card. When I try to set up the nvidia drivers, I get "no screens found"...
As for the touch screen, it responds, in that whenever you touch the screen, the cursor goes to the upper left corner.
Has anyone had any success getting these features working on this laptop?
