Upgrading database engine *IS* a complicated and highly risky task,
regardless of the engine.
And this task can't be done automatically, highly depending of what you
do with your datadases.
In production context, upgrade is even totally forbidden without serious
impact analysis, reliable backups, multiple backups test, pre-prod-test
and re-qualification of all depending softwares.

So, if you look for a no-bug-automatically-upgradable database engine,
go to church and pray a lot… And play lottery, you have more chance of
winning there !
