Unless you would run into too many dependency problems, you could try to
use libavcodec52 and libavcodec52-dev from testing.

You might already have some dependency problems since version
5:0.6.1+svn20101128-0.2, which is to be installed, doesn´t seem to exist
in neither stable, nor testing.
