I tried with and without quotes, with the label and formatting the
drive as ext3. I restarted autofs. None of these worked. When I cd to
/var/autofs/removable it's empty.
It's supposed to be empty. After you cd to it, try issuing:
ls usb
Or, even better, use the --ghost option in your auto.master, like this:
/var/autofs/removable /etc/auto.removable
--timeout=2,sync,nodev,nosuid,ghost
My current settings:
# cat /etc/auto.master
/var/autofs/removable /etc/auto.removable
--timeout=2,sync,nodev,nosuid
# cat /etc/auto.removable
usb -fstype=auto
UUID=b5fe478b-26f5-4182-a264-ba2b0a7c33c8
# blkid /dev/sdc1
/dev/sdc1: LABEL="KINGSTON"
UUID="b5fe478b-26f5-4182-a264-ba2b0a7c33c8" SEC_TYPE="ext2"
TYPE="ext3"
