I went to kernel.org and downloaded the newest one (2.6.38) Then I used the Debian Kernel Handbook ( http://kernel-handbook.alioth.debian.org/ ) to help me build another one. This fixed the problem for me. I am hoping that the next point release (6.0.2) will fix the bug so I can go back to using the Official Debian Releases, but for the time being, this is working.
