If you only need it for surfing the net, surely you don't need a phone? Have you looked at PDAs instead? The Zaurus line from Sharp are^H^H^Hwere quite capable PDAs running full Linux. Most of the later models also come with built-in wireless (which you'd need for network access on the move).
