Pidgin can't using gtalk(google talk)

Hi list,
i'm using debian squeeze with 2.6.32-5-686 kernel
i have problem to using pidgin, if i'm create google talk account it is automatic change to XMPP protocol and cannot using gtalk protocol, any idea?

root@testing:~# dpkg -l | grep pidgin
ii  pidgin                               2.7.3-1+squeeze1                  graphical multi-protocol instant messaging client for X
