Problems with USB

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi.

Just upgraded my mobo to an ASRock M3A770DE, after the last mobo sound
system was burned out by microphone feedback.

Well, I'm having serious USB problems. I have a Lexar card reader that
has worked perfectly well for years, and it has always been
recognized right away. When I plug it in,

This happens multiple times, and then the SD card is recognized and
works just fine until I disconnect it.

I have not seen this kind of behavior before. Every liveCD I've tried
has also crashed during hardware detection. I'm a bit concerned that
this mobo is not going to work out. Unfortunately, the ROM is fully
up-to-date, something that was not true on my last mobo that had CPU
scaling issues right away and a rom update fixed them.

Any suggestions? Pointers to diagnostic disks?
