2:  The GNU project != Linux.

(The GNU project refers to "Linux" as an OS very consistently as
"GNU/Linux", unless they are referring specifically to the Linux
kernel).

LILO was an earlier bootloader.  For Linux.  Hence:  LInux LOader.
