The 'route' output
Hi,
Here is my 'route' output:
$ route
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
192.168.0.0 * 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0
link-local * 255.255.0.0 U 1000 0 0 eth0
default 192.168.0.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0
and I have two questions,
- I haven't seen the "link-local" entry before. What's that?
Where can I read more about it?
- The last line, the "default" line, will take a while to show up,
abut 2 or 3 seconds. where is the delay comes from?
FYI, I'm using a local DNS caching server:
$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
# for interface eth0
search local
nameserver 192.168.0.100
nameserver 192.168.0.1
