If you think lubricate the fan to get a better spin I would rather take a fine machine oil, but WD-40. I'm not sure that "fine machine oil" is best translation, it is a fine oil used in precision mechanics, eg for repairing watches.This is the first thing to do as soon as I have "my" Debian running on the "other" machine ;) Is WD40 suitable for such fans?
I think that 1 or 2 drops will be fine, at least worked for me.
