@ Larry - you are right, there are lots of handy LaTeX equation
editors and I use some of them regularly. I didn't mention this
earlier, but another important consideration for me is to draw
graphs/diagrams/pictures with arrows, etc. on-the-fly, which is harder
to do with software. Your point is well taken, though.
