What is the best way to do this? (If I simply cp -a, I might dispense with LVM altogether since it's services on a 1 terra disk are not critical any longer). I thought to simply add partitions on the new disk to the current volumes and sometime later remove some or all of the old disk partitions. Will this work and is it safe (i.e. the lvm configuration program will move data as required)?
