Automatically moving panels with xte from xautomation package?

I just found the xautomation(http://linux.die.net/man/7/xautomation)
package where the xte binary is, seems really handy, but what I'm trying
to do doesnt work for some reason.

I wanted to drag a panel to another monitor after turning it on with xrandr.

I tried to slow it down with the sleep method, and it looks like it
clicks, and then drags, but the panel just doesnt follow along for some
reason.

xte 'mousemove 400 5' 'mousedown 1' 'sleep 2' 'mousemove  5 100' 'sleep
2' 'mouseup 1'

Any hints from experienced xte users?
