Boot order / Grub / USB installer

Hi there,

  I am trying to install a stable debian 504 using an USB key. Here is
what I did:

$ wget http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/lenny/main/installer-amd64/current/images/hd-media/boot.img.gz
$ wget http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.4/amd64/iso-cd/debian-504-amd64-netinst.iso
$ zcat boot.img.gz > /dev/sdd
[remount cycle]
$ cp debian-504-amd64-netinst.iso /media/Debian\ Inst

However after installation it looks like grub switch its internal hd0
/ hd1 (device map file) in between /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1.
I had to manually invert them, re-run grub-install.

This happen on a DELL Precision WorkStation T7500.

Does this ring a bell to anyone ?

Thanks
