Yes, I completely agree. BTW, this is not specific to Flash. There
should be user-level alternatives (in addition to system-wide).


I bet that symlinks plus ~/.mozilla/plugins would (hackish though it may be) solve your problem.

A bash (with dialog or zenity hooks) script in /usr/local/bin could do all the linking for your non-geek users.
