Hi,
I can play .mpg, but not .flv with VLC but can with ffplay.
That's maybe doesn't count because I have also Kdenlive and he is 
withdrew lot's staff with him.

My ffprobe -i *.mpg:
Stream #0.0(eng): Video: h264, yuv420p, 320x240 [PAR 1:1 DAR 4:3], 25 
tbr, 2500 tbn, 50 tbc
Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 138 kb/s
