I need to reconfigure X, because I have switched to a newer, larger
monitor. I google for info and find
"dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg"

but when I run this (as root) I get only questions about the keyboard

I am running Lenny, installed with the last week. Is monitor/video
now in a different package?? What is the trick?

it seems that xorg now can run without xorg.conf and without the
configuration stage. Is the monitor not cofnigured correctly?
Generally speaking you should just be able to plug in a new monitor
and have it "just work." If that is not the case, then you'll have to
configure some pieces in xorg.conf manually. Specifically, you'll
probably need to set up the horizontal and vertical sync. In extreme
cases you'll still need to specify a mode line like the days of old,
but that should largely be gone now.

But forget about multiseat configurations with the latest xorg, we took a step backwards sorry to say.

What results are you getting with the monitor?
