Hi,
Why curious ?
In fact I am an IT teacher and I use my laptop to demonstrate how to use
servers  (ftp, ssh, apache, mysql, ...).
It is true that I have to  stop them when i don't need them, I  hadn't 
done it!!! this is the story.
