Yep, you were right, I had completely screwed up the upgrade from etch to
lenny.
I had to fix several problems, like installing dpkg 1.14 and perl-base
5.10 directly from the .deb but it's fine now.

Upgrade from lenny to squeeze worked properly :) Thanks for your help
