I noticed this today - my syslog is filling up with repeated
calls to my internet provider...even though I am obviously connected.
Is this caused by some mis-configuration ?

This is the sort of thing I mean:

Oct 14 19:02:21 squeeze dhclient: DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 192.168.1.1

two weeks ago, I posted on the list a similar issue: `dhclient
DHCPREQUEST loop'.

Yeah, just found that in the archives. But I see no one had a solution then, and
probably now.
It works so I won't try to fix it :)

For my issue, it is periodically working :-)
My current understanding is that the different
involved times do not have the same definition for
the client and the server.
My plan is to give a try to dhcp4 (available in
experimental) as it has new options which may allow
to play with the different involved times.

hth,
Jerome
