finding a wireless interface

In Squeeze, an SMC wireless card appears to be initialized OK.

newton:~# pccardctl ident
Socket 0:
  product info: "SMC", "SMC2632W", "Version 01.02", ""
  manfid: 0x0156, 0x0002
  function: 6 (network)
Socket 1:
  no product info available
newton:~# pccardctl status
Socket 0:
  5.0V 16-bit PC Card
Subdevice 0 (function 0) bound to driver "orinoco_cs"
Socket 1:
  no card

According to the SMC documentation, the flashing
LED indicates _ad hoc_ mode.

How can I find the eth number? This is no help.
newton:~# cat /proc/pci
cat: /proc/pci: No such file or directory

"ethtool eth" finds a Linksys USB200M at =2.
No evidence of the SMC for -1 < < 5.

Thanks for any ideas, ... p. crawford
