Hi,

I have a digital camera olympus u1040 and wonder how to support it on
Debian.

I tried the package "gtkam", but I didn't find the supported model from the
drop-down list. The DC could not be detected.

Any one has solution or guides for this?

Thanks so much.

Michael.

Does anybody have idea about this? I tried to search solutions on Google,
but didn't get much information.

What's in dmesg and syslog when you plug it in?

The output of dmesg when I plug it in is:

Also, did you try gphoto2?

# gphoto2 --auto-detect --verbose

I also tried gphoto2, but when automatically detect model, it recognizes the camera as C-370Z, actually it is u1040:

michael@debian:~$ gphoto2 --auto-detect -v
gphoto2 2.4.0

This version of gphoto2 is using the following software versions and options:
gphoto2         2.4.0          gcc, popt(m), exif, cdk, no aa, jpeg, readline
libgphoto2      2.4.1          gcc, ltdl, EXIF
libgphoto2_port 0.8.0          gcc, ltdl, USB, serial without locking
Model                          Port
----------------------------------------------------------
Olympus C-370Z                 usb:
Olympus C-370Z                 usb:007,004

If I specify the model of camera as "Olympus C-370Z" to detect, an error message returned as "could not initialize camera".
