If you reject something that you don't want aptitude to do and then there is no 
option that satisfies you (and aptitude claims that there are no more options 
available), then blame probably goes elsewhere (packages 
versions/dependencies)... perhaps you should use lenny/stable instead.

Note that there are lots of configuration options for aptitude's resolver, like
Aptitude::ProblemResolver::PreserveManualScore, which adds a score to explicit 
user selections.
