I've recently converted my network to ipv6 and found the info on the net to be limited to quite terse technical details. There are several places where the technical details of ipv6 can be found, among which off course wikipedia. But the the only howto like document that I could find to get you started was a great article on linuxquistions.org where three example implementations were described in increasing complexity:
