That might be issue.  Nvidia legacy driver (I have a
[GeForce4 Ti 4200 Go AGP 8x] per lshw.  No longer supported by the
current nvidia drivers.  CPU: Pentium M 1.4 GHz, RAM: 2GB.

I don't think the latter two are the problem.  The nvidia driver might have
been tickled the wrong way by this video/web site.  But I've never seen
this behavior before.  This computer is capable of displaying 1080i HDTV
files.  I have a WUXGA display (1900 X 1200).

In any case, I extracted the video file from the exe file with unzip and
I can watch it just fine locally.  Maybe it was a combination of network
congestion, the video driver and the web site quirk.
