It's possible to use BD-RE media multiple times.Being able to put a full distribution on one disk is worth a lot in convenience. Money isn't everything.
With the link, I'm thinking the OP was spamming, but nevertheless, I already have the BD-writer, so having Debian on BD would be an nice bonus for me. Especially for the weeklies of Testing. I hope that mirror volunteers are found for this, it would make my life much easier.
