debian installation help

hi,

the following are the file names which i downloaded from the debian website.
debian-40r5-amd64-DVD-1.iso
debian-40r5-amd64-DVD-2.iso
debian-40r5-amd64-DVD-3.iso
debian-update-4.0r5-amd64-DVD-
1.iso

i downloaded all four of them and wrote in four different dvd's using nero burner. i installed debian using first dvd (debian-update-4.0r5-amd64-DVD-1.iso). after installation, i tried to install packages from debian-update-4.0r5-amd64-DVD-2.iso dvd, however the system couldn't recognize the media while booting. also after booting, it says the dvd content is empty. from net and from various forums i understand that there are many scientific packages inbuilt with debian, which i couldn't find in the present installation. i believe they must be available to install in the remaining dvd's, but how can i make my debian machine to understand the remaining media?

point to consider, however, not related to the current issue under discussion: if debian-update-4.0r5-amd64-DVD-1.iso  alone is sufficient to install debian in a machine, why don't debian provider rename remaining file names as optional or with any other name which doesn't confuse anyone?

Jam, India.
