OpenVZ (and also liux-vserver, from the -verser kernels) give you a very 
lightwight virtualization. But provided you run on the same kernel.

This is great for running an extra "server" on your system. Sharing files 
is as easy as bind-mounting. But this is not the thing to test installing
a new OS or to run windows on.
