You could boot with the install CD with option "expertgui" (or plain 
"expert"). There should be an option to reinstall the boot loader. This 
option is good if your system doesn't boot anymore. However, I'm not 
100% sure if it looks for other OSs; its main purpose is rescue.

If you just want to add another OS it's easier to just edit 
'/boot/grub/menu.lst'. Look for the line:

### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST

Write your own stanza only *below* that line. If you need help just post
