There may be a much simpler solution, provided that you can live with
getting a semi-random MAC address at every reboot: Just change the udev
rule for eth0 to look like this
# PCI device 0x10de:0x03ef (forcedeth)
SUBSYSTEM=="net", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTRS{address}=="00:00:6c:*", NAME="eth0"
and remove all the other ethX rules from the file.
