I won't be surprised if the printed date of manufacture was deliberately set to some future time at the time of packaging. So in Thailand, it *might* be possible to buy a drive that has not yet been manufactured as per the sticker.
I once purchased a pack of cookies and found the date of packing to be a couple of weeks in the future!
